As 2017 moves along, there’s a lot of crazy, wild, and unexpected things one is sure to expect on a regular basis…. a blogger without any access to wifi however is NOT one of those things!
In February, I decided it was time for my first trip of the new year out of the country. As I grew tired & bored of my confined apartment, I decided it was time to change my scenery for the spacious & welcoming beachy atmosphere of Cuba.
To my surprise, my wifi debacle turned out to be a blessing in disguise! For the first time in a long time I was able to interact with people and actually engage in conversation with those whose lives differed so much from my own. This wasn’t the typical “How are you? How’s work? Ugh, Mondays,” discussion protocol I had become so accustomed to back home. Rather than only ask questions, I stepped aside to listen. The culture, people, and atmosphere were beyond epic.
Of course, being the self-proclaimed foodie and part time food critic that I am, I delved into all the nibbles Cuba had to offer. To be honest, it was not as amazing as I was anticipating. Nevertheless, staring at the beautifully crafted architecture whilst somewhat enjoying my meal surely made up for any lack the food may have brought.
Overall, Cuba was an experience that can be added to the list of many. With warm weather, instagramable backgrounds, and good conversation, there’s not much more one could expect from a quick getaway.
Until next time,
