We brought in the New Year in Montego Bay, Jamaica. We stayed at one of the most beautiful resorts, Half Moon resort, where the staff was beyond incredible. The entire stay was smooth and peaceful, which was all we looked forward to. This vacation was very intersting because rather than staying at the resort the entire time, we met a local, who I must say is a good friend now, who was willing to show us the “real” Jamaica. He lives in Hanover, which is the country side of Jamaica. He picked us up and took us into the market where we bought fresh mouth watering fruits, something that the U.S lacks. We then went fishing in hopes of catching some big guys but in return only ended up with the small guys. After a few hours at the market, we went off to his home in the country side where his amazing wife had goat soup prepared for us and also prepared the fish that we bought, which turned out to be surprisingly very tasty. We had jelly coconuts which we couldn’t get enough of.  He educated us about life in Jamaica and the cost of living and overall the experience was one that we would cherish forever.
