Fall in New York last year was much colder than this year. By this time last year I was already in full hibernation mode– avoiding the outdoors like the plague. That’s why I’m completely ecstatic for this year’s fall weather, but at the same time I suspect it to end very soon. So, let me stop talking about it now before I jinx it.
I love fall merely because it is the perfect time to play dress up. There are so many pieces to throw on- this is the time for layers on layers on layers . When it comes to shoes, I am a boots/ booties type of girl and though I wear boots all year long (I never let the weather decide what I’m going to wear), I finally get to wear them without people asking me “Aren’t you hot in those?”. I especially love fall in New York because it is the only time I venture out to central park. My morning runs are much better with the trees changing colors.
It’s hard staying warm and looking cool at the same time. This year I am looking forward to the best statement jackets and coats, lots of oversize knit sweaters because comfort is key and more hats because I can’t imagine my life (or hair) without hats. I’ve made a promise to myself to add new color palettes to my wardrobe and not bury myself in all black this season which is so hard living in New York because everyone knows that all black is New York’s official uniform.
What pieces are you guys looking to add to your wardrobe this season and what is your favorite thing about fall in New York?
